3 Tips to Saying NO to Old School Practices!

I have a few tips to share with you, but first, let me take you back in time. Trust me… you will want to read to the end. My hope is that it will help you too!

In the first quarter of 2021, I walked away from my direct sales business after 4.5 years. Also, in the first part of 2021, I organically hit 7-figure status in my business. I did this from my cell phone, through hard work, and treating people right. No fancy ads. No paid funnels.

Just a simple, effective 3-part system. In addition, more than half of this status was through my personal business coaching practice. At that time, I caught a taste of what multiple streams of income looked like and started to dream about what else was out there for me. But I was told having MY own company would ruffle some feathers and that if I could withstand the heat, I could basically stay in the kitchen. Well, I stayed in the kitchen until I realized I was cooking with the wrong people. That’s a hard reality, friend! Over the rest of 2021, and all of 2022, I’ve been working hard to build MY company around MY brand and the things that I love. Starting over in direct sales was frightening, but staying in a kitchen surrounded by people who did not have my best interest at heart was even more frightening to me. Here are my biggest tips for rocking out your first quarter of 2023… ➡️ Ask yourself, “What’s working?” and “What’s not working?” This will require a brain dump on paper. Be willing to change up your systems to be able to streamline your business and scale. Write out two columns and just start releasing everything that is in your brain in regard to these two questions. Be sure to differentiate what is actually in your control & what is something you can’t control on these lists. You’ll need to let go of a few things out of your control, my friend. You’ll need to be willing to change up your systems to be able to streamline your business and scale in 2023. ➡️ If you’re using old school content strategies and exposure systems, it’s time to move on to innovated, updated systems that duplicate AND free up both your time and your prospect’s time. When I dive in with my clients, one of the first things I do is evaluate their content and systems for onboarding clients, customers, & business partners. Most often, there are major gaps in the content AND the systems that requires a step-by-step, strategic approach to revamping. It’s time to change it up if you’re still posting and onboarding like you were 2-3, or more, years ago. ➡️ Above all else, be yourself. Authenticity is the only way to go. Social media has gotten harder and harder over the years. The major shift started in 2018 and it’s been progressively intensifying since. People can tell when you're sharing your story, being yourself, and if they can’t relate to you, they can’t trust you, and therefore, they won’t partner with you in anyway. I know it’s scary, BUT start small and eventually, you’ll reap the benefits. Let me know if you try any of the above tips. I'd love to know if any or all are working for you. And if you're looking for help in any of these areas, feel free to send me a DM @carol_hipps.
